Take a 3-hour half-day tour to the countryside and explore Zaanse Schans in a small group. See how a clog maker is making the famous Dutch wooden shoe, visit a cheese farm and a working windmill. Spend half a day outside Amsterdam and enrich your trip by touring the Dutch countryside.

My sister and I were the only 2 guests on a tour with Esther our guide. She was excellent and her enthusiasm and pride in the windmills and her local area enhanced our experience. We had a fantastic trip and would recommend the experience to anyone interested in Dutch history and culture. Thank you Esther.

I loved this short trip from Amsterdam. An absolutely beautiful village with working windmills, lush gardens and delicious chocolate ice-cream. The drive there was only around 20 minutes, which meant there was plenty of time to see the village, look at some museums and visit the windmills. The guide was very knowledgeable, and she was genuinely fond of Zaanse (sorry, I cannot remember her nametour.more

We had a great time exploring Zaanse Schans just outside of Amsterdam and learning about all of the special, unique cultural and historical insights that made the Netherlands what it is today! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, friendly, and open to all kinds of questions. Highly recommend!

Great tour - just the right amount of time if you are limited in Amsterdam. Only a short 15/20 min ride from city. Tour guide was a local of the town and very informative - excellent. Walked through little village and stopped at wooden shoe factory - very neat and then a cheese factory - had to be quick to get samples. Highlight of trip was seeing the windmills in the distance and up close.tour.more

The tour was good and the perfect amount of time. Zaanse Schanse is about 20 minutes outside of Amsterdam and it's an interesting tour if you're looking to understand a bit more about Dutch culture and history without anything feeling to fabricated or cheesy (no pun intended as you will be able to eat your fair share of cheese on the tour). The tour guide Paul was informative and understandingtour.more
