Pair an art gallery with a dash of whimsy, and you get the Trick Eye Museum in Seoul. Inspired by the visual art technique of 'trompe l'oeil,’ the museum features paintings that give each 2D-piece a 3D-illusion. Step into or beside the art, and snap photos that have you popping out of the portrait or mural. Then, freeze boredom out of your life inside the Ice Museum, part of Trick Eye, and discover rooms made entirely of ice. Post your amusing and bizarre pics on social media and watch the thumbs-up numbers climb.

We were staying in a hotel in the Gangnam district, of Seoul, so it was a bit a journey across town to the museum (1.5 hours by taxi - it was 20 minutes to go back, later in the evening), however it was fun. Included was the visit to the Ice Museum, which was a bit of a temperature shock (it was 26° outside, so we were in t-shirts and shorts and it was -2° inside so we were rather under-dresstour.more

Make sure your phone is fully charged! Great for kids. Nice to have ice museum free but it was way too cold! It's small and they give you a thin poncho only that doesn't serve any purpose. Kids liked the fake toilet with fake poo.

Was really hard to find took a taxi and got lost. Much smaller than we anticipated however the displays were pretty cool, especially if you downloaded the Trick Eye app, unfortunately, my phone overheated and we had to turn it off so we didn't get a many pictures as we would have liked. Took about 1 hour to tour entire museum and not really worth the cost..

Had so much fun, totally a different kind of museum. Download the app to get the “trick-eye effect”. We got lost going there because the area looks totally different and a lot busier compare to what the area looks like on the internet. We eventually found it but one can ask for directions there.

At first, we had a hard time finding the place but eventually came across the sign. We came in at around 6pm and most of the shops inside the museum were already closed by the time we were finished. The museum was very fun though you really have to bring a tripod to take amazing photos. We also went to the Ice House which was very cold so better bring an extra jacket when you plan to go here.
